Created from the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base, Plattsburgh International is now a multi-purpose airport and aerospace industrial park. Located just one hour from Montreal, it serves as a strategic secondary airport for southern Quebec -- "MONTREAL'S U.S. AIRPORT" -- offering lower cost air service for almost 5 million people in its passenger catchment area.
Plattsburgh features massive and flexible facilities, including a 12,000 foot concrete runway, a 12 million square foot concrete apron, extensive buildings along the flight line, and ample open space for new construction of hangars and other facilities. It's aerospace tenants include Wood Group Aero, the Dept. of Homeland Security, Precision Jet Management, and others, and service is provided by a top notch FBO, SheltAir -- including quality services for general aviation. A major new passenger terminal opened in June 2007, placing Plattsburgh International in the air service business as "Montreal's U.S. airport", a regional airport for all of northern New York, and as a major airport serving Lake Placid and the Adirondacks. There are already three air carriers enjoying success, and more service is expected to develop over thye next two years.
Plattsburgh International is also an Empire Zone, designated by New York State as a specially targeted zone for investment and economic development, offering attractive incentives and benefits. It is also an approved Foreign Trade Zone.
PBG (Plattsburgh International Airport) offers opportunities for aviation-related companies and activities of all kinds, and we are ready to discuss how your company and our airport can move onward and upward together! |
